Cross-sector cohort based learning to drive organizational change

We believe in impact. The impact diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizations can drive in the world, and the impact we can have by helping clients focus on what will effect the most change within their organizations. ​

Join Our Labs

Each year we offer a cohort-based learning experience for social and private sector organizations. This unique learning experience is designed for small-to-mid sized organizations that are ready to put their values into practice and a rigorous action learning approach to solving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) challenges.

​Over a 6-9 month lab, we support organizations to move their DEI efforts towards a more integrated approach, and test developing culture and systems that create an enabling environment for DEI practices grounded in data, rigor and accountability.​

Time Commitment

  • 4 full-day sessions (Virtual, with the possibility of socially-distant in-person sessions based on public health recommendations)
  • 6 hours of 1-1 coaching with a dedicated coach for your organization to support and advance DEI efforts
  • ​Expert Webinars

Participants Gain Access To

  • Proprietary assessment tool to conduct an organizational DEI Audit;
  • Tools and frameworks to build organizational racial equity culture;
  • Peer learning among cohort participants across sectors; 
  • Emergent real-time approaches to solving organizational DEI challenges through a framework that combines levers to move organizations through the race equity cycle, understanding of cultural habits, and the use of data to test “bets;”
  • Strategies for undoing bias and leaning into allyship to implement and learn from;
  • DEI experts in organizational strategy, change management, and evaluation; and
  • A unique plan and approach that is right-sized for your goals and grounded in a strong adaptive management orientation.

Five Kindering staff participated in Moving Beyond’s 2020 DEI Action Lab. The lab supported and jumpstarted our journey in building a more inclusive culture. The experience was a rich cohort-based learning environment where we gained so much from fellow participants and from Aparna and Jessica, who are bold and caring leaders.

The Girl Scouts of Western Washington People and Culture team participated in the 2020 action lab. The lab challenged us to focus our DEI work on 90-day, small bet experiments that measured progress and retooled approaches based on data and feedback. The action learning approach has since been integrated across many of our departments as leaders design and plan for strategic outcomes. The Lab helped us focus on desired outcomes and more effectively adjust when approaches are not working.
